Studio Fix Powder in NW20

I was kind of unsure if I should make this post, as my last two posts were about food.. But I am wanting to make this blog about food, beauty, fashion and lifestyle. So I hope all that enjoyed the food posts also enjoys this one! If not, don't worry, there will be more food posts coming soon!

Last pay day, I went into the city with a mission to get colour matched to a MAC Studio Fix Powder.. As this was my first MAC foundation I found that it would be important to get matched by a professional. The lady at the MAC counter was super helpful and honest! She matched me to a NW20 and even gave me a sample of the strobe cream!

When I arrived home, a package that I ordered from MAC online a few weeks earlier had arrived! MAC overload! So I thought what a great opportunity for a MAC haul post! In the package I got 8 eyeshadows, a large palette, eyeshadow palette insert, 3 lipsticks and 2 brushes. As I have only previously owned their lipsticks I thought I would try out more of their products!

I must say, I am so pleased with my Studio Fix Powder.. I was after something more lightweight and natural than liquid foundation. This little product has become apart of my "everyday makeup" (although, I don't wear makeup everyday) It is perfect for oily skin, and pairs beautifully with the strobe cream from MAC for a slightly fuller coverage than just wearing it alone. I also love pairing it with a light BB cream for an even fuller coverage. Another thing I love about the powder is that I don't find that I get break outs like I do from some other face makeup products, so this is a huge thumbs up for me!

Moving on to lipsticks... I think I may have found a new favourite lipstick - Please Me! I am a huge lover of nudes, so Please Me a something a bit different for me but still well within my comfort zone. I would describe Please Me as a mid-tone pink. I wear this by applying it to my lips and then rubbing it in with my finger for a more subtle look. I think this colour would be great for someone that is still a newbie to wearing lip colour (like me!) as it's not too crazy but draws more attention than a plain ol' nude!

As for eyeshadows, I am not really a huge eyeshadow wearer.. but obviously I'm hoping to experiment with some simple eyeshadow looks. I chose 8 neutral shades - Woodwinked, Soft Brown, Satin Taupe, Soba, Naked Lunch, Bamboo, All That Glitters and Texture. I haven't had the time to test them out yet, but I have been using Bamboo for my crease colour and I have been enjoying how it looks.

Now, luckily last are the brushes! I got the 263 brush to fill in my eyebrows.. I was expecting a slightly harder brush so I was a little bit disappointed once it arrived. Once I used this brush with my Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade my feelings of disappointment were replaced with delight. The brush works great with Dipbrow as it doesn't pick up too much product (which is essential when using the Dipbrow)

I also got the 217 blending brush, this brush is pretty self explanatory, after hearing everyone living under the sun talk about this brush I decided to give in and purchase one. I have been using this on my crease with Bamboo as I mentioned before and it blends beautifully. I totally understand why everyone loves this brush so much!
